My first day at Barrington.

One of my first days at Barrington Stage Company was being pulled to the St. Germain, our smaller of the two performance spaces. We prepped to load-in the very simple set of the slatted walls then went back to the shop to the finish the center one.

Method: Large framed flats made of 1x8 with rough cut boards as facing. 1/2” spacing used between slats.

A simple build for acclimation.

Within my first week I was assigned my first individual build and it was a fantastic way to get an understanding of the shop layout and what tools were available. Being a one-man show with a very old gentlemen getting on his knees and crawling around, there were concerns for his stamina and well-being. As a result I had to make 3 cupholders so they could hide glasses of water for him behind the center wall.

Method: Create this simple small box however I wanted. I chose minimal glue and medium crown staples. It had to be finished with a hole-saw, my first time getting to use one!
