The major mirror

The towering mirror was supposed to be the centerpiece of the show. It was drafted by our ATD Chris Konstantinidis in two parts split down the middle for transport purposes. At the end of the show it was supposed to lean down creating a reflection of the audience looking at themselves, but this detail was unfortunately cut.

Process: I ended up cutting almost all of the steel used for this project in addition to drilling bolt holes. This was my first time using an abrasion saw, a horizontal bandsaw, and stepping up for bolt patterns.

Railings galore!

Once again I found myself cutting lots of steel for railing sections. Although thankfully this one I could set up a stopblock. There was a CNC Jig and I was able to weld a few sets of tabs onto uprights.

Method: 1x1 16ga Box Tube cut down for railing posts, 1/4” strap steel cut for tabs to attach to deck in addition to securing railing CNC detail.

A fully custom deck and apron.

For Cabaret, the first row of audience seating was removed in order to put in a full apron staircase down to the audience. There was also a platform unit on deck that would house the band. This meant lots of custom built platforms with curved sides.

Method: 2x4 framing with a CNC lid, glue and screwed construction. The apron used MDF lids rather than Plywood.
